Garlic Bread with Cheese and fresh Basil

Recipe for 6

Ingredients:
1 loaf of bread of your choice, thickly sliced (choose a crusty type)
1 cup butter at room temperature
3 garlic cloves, puréed
A handful of fresh basil leafs, chopped
2 cups Edam cheese, grated

Preparation:

In a mixing bowl place the butter and the garlic and mix to combine. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Preheat the grill of your oven. Arrange the sliced bread on a baking sheet and place under the grill for less than a minute (just to warm up the bread).
Remove from the oven the bread and spread enough garlic butter over one side of each sliced bread. Sprinkle some basil over the buttered side of the bread and cover with grated cheese.
Place again under broiler for 3-4 minutes or until cheese melts and starts to become crusty.
Serve directly from oven with tomato sauce. Enjoy!
