Beef Tacos (Mexican Recipe)

Recipe for 6-8

Ingredients:
500gr lean ground beef
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 garlic cloves, crushed and thinly chopped
1 onion thinly chopped
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup beef stock
12 taco shells

Suggested Toppings:
Cheddar cheese, shredded
Iceberg or romaine lettuce, cut into thin shreds
Tomatoes, chopped
White or red onion, chopped
Ripe olives, sliced or chopped
Fresh jalapenos, seeded and chopped
Sour cream

Preparation:

Place the olive oil in a large skillet, over medium-high heat. Cook and crumble the ground beef until nicely browned. Add the onion and the garlic and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Season with chilli powder salt, black pepper, oregano, cumin, cinnamon and stir to mix.
Add the beef stock and mix it well with the ground beef. Bring it to boil and simmer until the liquids evaporate and beef is cooked. Cover skillet and keep warm until ready to serve.
To assemble a taco, take a taco shell and scoop in a generous quantity of beef mixture. Then according to personal preference add toppings in no particular order. For example you may add over beef some shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, jalapenos and sour cream. Enjoy!
