T-Bone Steak with Whiskey Sauce(American Recipe)

Recipe for 4

Ingredients:4 beef T-bone steaks, (2.5cm thick or more)
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, thinly chopped
1 tablespoon flour (all purpose)
1/3 cup bourbon whiskey (Jack Daniels preferably)
3 tablespoons water,
1 teaspoon sugar

Preparations:

Place the steaks in a bowl and sprinkle both sides of steaks with salt and pepper. Pour in the bowl the olive oil and grease all sides of the meat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
In the meantime prepare the sauce: In a sauce pan melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onions until translucent. Decrease heat and add the flour and stir continuously for 1 minute. Add the bourbon, water, sugar and a pinch of salt. Stir and bring it to boil. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat the grill (preferably charcoal) to medium-high heat and cook the steaks according to personal preference. Usually best cooked for 4 minutes each side for medium.
Serve the steaks while still hot and spoon over it a generous portion of whiskey sauce. Garnish with steamed vegetables and mash potatoes. Enjoy!
