American Pancakes

Recipe for 6-8

Ingredients

1.5 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups milk

1 egg

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Maple syrup and fruits (sliced bananas and strawberries) for garnish

1 tablespoon butter for cooking

Preparation:

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center.

In a separate bowl, beat together egg, milk and melted butter. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture and beat all the ingredients together until smooth.

Preheat a griddle over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt completely.

Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Let it brown on one side and then turn it over to cook both sides.

Serve hot and garnish with maple suryp and some sliced fruits on top. Enjoy!
