Brownies

Recipe for approximately 35 pieces

Ingredients:
170gr dark chocolate
30gr cocoa
1/2 cup pure vegetable shortening
4 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (powder)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cup flour, sifted
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation:

Place the chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie (double boiler) and let it melt over medium heat.
Beat the eggs in a mixer until they get a lighter colour. Add sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until the mixture swells and add the melted chocolate. Add the sifted flour, the baking powder, the salt and cocoa. Whisk until the ingredients are combined. Using a spoon add little by little the walnuts and stir to join.
Spread the mixture in a medium rectangular baking dish (23cmX31cm) lined with baking paper sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 180oC for 20 minutes. The success of this recipe depends mainly on the process of baking. Check whether its ready by inserting a pointy knife in the centre. The knife should come out moist. Then insert it about 3cm away from the centre. If it comes out dry it means that it is ready.
Let it cool completely and cut it into squares.
Serve this dessert any time of a day. Enjoy!
