Sizzling Beef (Korean Recipe)

Recipe for 4

500gr. rump steak, trimmed of all fat
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sweet mirin, or rice wine
2 garlic cloves, thinly chopped
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 spring onions, sliced lengthways
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Slice the meat as thinly as possible. In a bowl combine the sugar, soy, mirin (or rice wine), garlic, sesame oil, salt and pepper. Add the beef and stir to coat.
Heat in a wok the vegetable oil until very. Sear the beef slices for a few minutes and then add the spring onion.
Stir-fry for 2-3 more minutes and then add the sesame seeds. Stir-fry for another 3 minutes.
Serve hot with the steamed rice. Enjoy!
