Recipe for 4
Ingredients:
4 thick pork chops
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 teaspoon pepper
3 cups hot boiling water
2 1/2 cups ready made applesauce
1 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 200oC.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the pork chops and brown on both sides. Place the browned chops in a large casserole dish.
In the same skillet, sauté the garlic until barely golden. Add the flour, salt, and pepper and blend well. Add the water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the liquid thickens. Add the applesauce and lemon juice. Blend well, an pour the sauce over the pork chops.
Bake for 1 hour, basting every 20 minutes.
Serve while still hot with steamed vegetables and mash potatoes. Enjoy!
