Pork Chops with Honey and Lemon (Mediterranean Recipe)

Recipe for 2

2 thick pork chops ( no bone)
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
Juice of a lemon
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water

Arrange the pork chops in an oven dish and season with salt and pepper. Mix 3 tablespoons water with the honey, lemon peel, lemon juice, and garlic and pour evenly over the pork chops.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 min in a preheated oven (200oC).
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water. Uncover the oven dish and pour in the bottom with the meat juices the cornstarch mixture. With a spoon mix the two liquids and arange again the meat in the dish.
Cook for 12 more minutes uncovered and turning the meat occasionally. Make sure you do not overcook it.
Serve while still warm with French fries and a cold beer. Enjoy!
