Goulash (Hungarian Recipe)


Recipe for six

Ingredients:
1kg beef chuck
1 tablespoon salt
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons shortening
2 teaspoons paprika
3 medium carrots thickly sliced
1 cup parsley chopped
3 cups water
4 medium potatoes cubed
1/4 teaspoons black pepper

Preparation:
Cut beef into 1 inch cubes. Brown onions in shortening, add paprika and beef. Let beef simmer in own juice for 1 hour (low-medium fire). Add sliced carrots and parsley. Simmer for 1 hour. Add water, diced potatoes and salt. Simmer until potatoes are tender. Enjoy!
